It was a crazy week, and I've been feeling insane. I'm on two committees now: Enrichment and Activities. And both had major functions to pull off this week. I'm a girl who enjoys social activities, but I'm getting to see another side of them, and it may cure me of my party-girlish ways. Alternatively, once I get rid of this sciatic nerve pain (which should occur before I have another week like this one), these callings may not seem so bad. Plus, I'll probably be feeling much more calm after I get through my organ-piano duet next Sunday. (Since I'm the organ half of the duet, I can't seem to manage much practice time, and that doesn't help calm the nerves.)
And to completely change the subject, we've had some crazy weather this weekend. There was a little hail storm yesterday afternoon, between moments of clear skies and rain showers. But last night there was a pounding hail storm that woke me from a sound sleep, and I was almost curious enough to get out of bed and look out the window at it...almost...except for that sciatica and deep sleep combination. But anyhow, I started thinking today, and I have come up with a new rule that I think we could all agree on: Easter may not arrive until the tulips are in bloom. Agreed? Or am I truly crazy?

Rebecca,
I just want you to know that you are not alone in this pain of the sciatic nerve. I have been brought down to my knees a couple of times. I too was put to the test with functions golore. I have been asked to be the Childcare manager until they can fill the position at the club and of course this would be before they asked me to put on the Eggstravaganza for 150 kids. It was complete with jump house, easter bunny, egg hunt, cookie decorating, and 3 different crafts. What I have decided is that no woman 7 months pregnant with sciatica problems should be even attempt such a feat(You Included). Let's just say I took my kids out to eat after and I climbed into the car crying because I hurt so bad and to top it off Mike had been gone for a boys week with my brothers and dad since Wednesday. Anyway I just read your post and my heart hurt for you because I know your pain and want you to know I literally feel your pain. Thinking of you often! I'd love to chat sometime soon! Maybe you have a name for me. Love E
We awoke to a white covering on the ground once again this morning, but the bulbs which Jen and I planted last fall are all being brave (and making me excited). I think March is a little early (especially in Utah) for Easter.
Much love, Mom
Just be glad you're not on the 3rd ward's scout committee. I think I'm releasing myself, since it's more of a "by invitation" calling. Both of those callings sound perfect for you, but I can feel your pain. (not literally re: sciatica)
We have been enjoying beautiful weather until this weekend when we got some snow flurries and teeny-tiny hail. I'm agreed - the sun should be out on a regular schedule by next Sunday!
I love you, can I just tell you that?
Rebecca,
I love reading your blog! Have you had a c-section before? I'm glad to be having another c-section with this baby, even if it does mean a longer hospital stay. The c-section, recovery and all, went so smoothly and so easy last time that I have no worries. So, do not despair if you have to go the surgical route.
