It's August, and the sun shows up in Washington. After spending most of the day working up a sweat inside the house, cleaning rooms and doing other such boring summer work...we decide to seize the sunny day and go swimming!
The girls have put on their swim suits a handful of times already this summer, but only for running through the sprinkler in our yard. Today we packed up and went to the public pool, because it felt like a true summer day. (See how their eyes were squinting in the sun?) Yep, it was a hot one. I checked the outside temperature as I was driving to the pool, and it was almost 80 degrees out there. Woah! Around here, that's called a heat wave.
The 75-minute swim session was about 20 minutes too long for Hannah and myself. But Lauren, Emily, and Katelyn enjoyed every minute of being in the water, whether it felt "refreshing" or not!
I tried to keep myself warm by clinging to other warm bodies in the water!
I was surprised by how well Kate & Emmy can swim, even with infrequent practice. They spent most of their swim timing utilizing their handy dandy goggles to search for loose change on the bottom of the pool. (Grand total was 50 cents.)

Hannah just welcomes any opportunity to show off one of her various pairs of pink sunglasses.

How do you find the time to post so much lately?! I barely have time to read one before another is up. You're my hero, Rebecca Larson.
P.S. I'm glad you had a sunny day to enjoy.
P.S.2 Have you heard of/read "Twilight"? Cuz everybody's doing it.
